Steve Hayes

Steve first became acquainted with PEERS while being an intern through the BestNow! peer specialist training program. They are now the WRAP Program Assistant for PEERS. As a person of color who also identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a person with physical as well as mental health challenges, Steve‘s goal is to reach out, connect with and encourage as many people as they can with the message that ‘no matter what obstacles may have come your way or how difficult things may seem, if you don’t give up and persevere, good things can happen’. Steve believes in the power of WRAP and is proud to be working for PEERS in helping to make the WRAP program as fantastic as possible utilizing their skill set.

During their free time, among other things, Steve enjoys baking and cooking vegan foods, singing, and connecting with friends
