Renee Ramcharitar
Renee values the education and support PEERS brings to the community to end stigma and discrimination within the Mental Health Movement and looks forward to offering her gifts as a Program Assistant for the Everyone Counts Campaign and the Healing Arts Program.
Renee is passionate about wellness, spirituality, and peer support. She found Alameda County’s mental health movement in 2011. For three years prior to that, she had experienced severe depression and received many Messages. Her messages ultimately led her to experience the biggest and best Spiritual Emergence of her life. She followed the Guidance of her Higher Power and the steps she took led her to heal her mental health and physical health conditions. She thrives in life in many areas with Whole Health and Spiritual Wellness Tools. She became a member of PEERS “Lift Every Voice and Speak” Speaker’s Bureau and even became a WRAP facilitator. Over the last eleven years, Renee has completed the BestNow! Program, has worked on various other projects, and has served in four committees with POCC, Alameda County Care Connect and two of the Bay Area’s public-school systems. Renee brings “lived experience”, an elementary school teaching credential, as well as loving practice and skills working with individuals in Contra Costa County’s three detention facilities. She has enjoyed serving within various community organizations in the Bay Area as well as Los Angeles over the last 30+ years.
