Jennifer Vanaman

Jenn Vanaman (she/her) joins PEERS as their new Executive Director.

Jenn is deeply committed to providing the best support possible to all community members, and empowering those voices that have been historically excluded. A Bay Area native, Jenn began her career as a peer counselor and health educator, providing direct services to youth in her local high school. She received her BA from CSU Sacramento, then earned her MSW from the University of Michigan and returned to the Bay Area to continue working with marginalized and underrepresented individuals.

Jenn has over 10 years of experience as a social worker, having filled roles as a therapist, medical case manager, program director, and managing director. In addition to her professional career, she has also been a consumer of mental health services for over 20 years, navigating the system of care in Alameda County.

In her free time, Jenn enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to concerts, visiting Disneyland, and playing with her two cats, Sam and Dean.
