Social inclusion involves the respect and consideration for the various aspects of cultural values, traditions, beliefs, and practices. For many consumers and families, spirituality is a part of culture that is an essential component to resilience, wellness, and recovery. Recognizing spirituality as a part of multi-cultural practice, PEERS is honored to support the spiritual lives and various faith/belief based practices of our community by creating opportunities for mutual learning and offering a safe space to explore spirituality as a possible wellness tool.
The spirituality aspect of the campaign focuses on celebrating diversity through: monthly community dialogues, trainings to both the mental health provider and spiritual leader communities, and hosting various events and activities to support spirituality in wellness and recovery.
