Empower Yourself! This prong targets internalized stigma, or the shame and guilt people with mental health issues often feel. Empowerment is achieved through strength-based trainings, spirituality, and education about wellness and recovery.
Such trainings focus on valuing and building on the multiple capacities, resiliencies, talents, abilities, and uniqueness of individuals. Some tools we use include spirituality, Telling Our Stories, Wellness Recovery Action Planning, and Pathways to Recovery.
