PEERS teams with partners to host trauma-focused peer support workshop

In conjunction with Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services and the POCC Trauma Committee, PEERS hosted the Intentional Trauma-Informed Peer Support Workshop in Oakland on April 20. Led by renowned experts Shery Mead and Beth Filson, the session taught more than 50 participants about providing support to a peer, and how trauma — whether experienced in childhood or later in life — can shape and influence human behavior.
